World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria out now!
World of Warcraft's fourth and furry-filled expansion pounces on the world today.
For those who already installed this latest World of Warcraft, Blizzard said the game will be updated exactly at midnight. Players who are logged on will get a chat alert to head to Orgrimmar or Stormwind where their journey to the new continent will begin.
Meanwhile, for those still twiddling their thumbs, here’s a recap of its core features.
Mists of Pandaria opens up a brand-new continent for the online rpg, Pandaria. The expansion also introduces a new playable race, the Pandaren, which is unique for being the first race in to MMO accessible to both Alliance and Horde factions. A new class, the martial arts Monk, will also be added.
Mists of Pandaria raises the level cap to 90 as well, offering new dungeons and raids to make the leveling journey more challenging.
To be more specific, the content-heavy expansion will be rolling out eight zones, seven scenarios, nine dungeons, three raids, two battlegrounds, one arena, and three hundred daily quests from the get-go.
That represents hundreds, even thousands, of hours worth of playtime, making it one of the biggest updates the online rpg has ever seen in terms of content. And that’s not counting the time pet lovers will spend on the new Pokemon-style pet battle system.
The Mists of Pandaria standard edition retails for $40, and requires the purchase of the base World of Warcraft game and previous three expansions up to Cataclysm. There is also a digital deluxe version, which includes an Imperial Quilen mount and Quilen Pet, retails for $60. Both standard and digital deluxe can be purchased online.
Meanwhile, the most expensive Collector’s Edition contains all the digital deluxe perks as well as limited edition soundtracks, a mouse pad, behind-the-scenes DVDs and art books. It is only available through selected retail stores for $80.
