Blizzard showcases female Orc revamp in World of Warcraft
There's a lot of new stuff heading our way, when the new World of Warcraft expansion, Warlords of Draenor, arrives. Most importantly, however, the fantasy mmo will be seeing a lot of old stuff getting updated. One of the big improvements that Blizzard have been touting, since BlizzCon in Anaheim last year, has been updated visuals, and they have already shown improved character skin enhancements and improved texture comparisons throughout the overhaul process.
World of Warcraft has been doing the rounds now for almost a decade, first launching at the end of 2004, and with 10 years of mmorpg competition sprouting up around them, all with newer, glossier, more defined graphics, it's almost a necessity the Warlords of Draenor, the game's fifth major expansion, tightens up some of the nuts and bolts.
This week, Blizzard has been showcasing World of Warcraft's female Orc revamp, which is now leaner, meaner and more animated.
"I think we all agreed right off the bat that we wanted to focus on her 'warrior' side a little more", Chris Robinson, World of Warcraft's senior art director told the battle.net community in their latest blog, "that means moving away from the more doe-eyed version we know now toward a character you would expect to see fighting on the front lines alongside any of her Horde brothers and sisters"
Coined "The Daughter of Draenor", she certainly sets the theme for the upcoming expansion, which is expecting the power to shift back into the Horde's hands. Hopefully we'll be seeing her leading the charge.
