Burn rubber as you go fast and furious in World of Speed, the online racing mmo developed by Slightly Mad Studios. Players engage in action-style racing around the world in real world cars ranging from everyday city runners to the fastest super cars on the road. Featuring gorgeous AAA HD graphics and visuals, the thrill of the race comes to your favorite computer or laptop.
World of Speed is unlike other racing mmo games in that being the first across the finish line doesn't guarantee victory. Slightly Mad Studios knows that continually finishing in the middle of the pack saps the joy out of the race for most players, and they've taken steps to remedy this situation. Players can race as teams in four-versus-four matchups where the goal is for the team to win, not the individual player. This gameplay allows players to fulfill certain roles during the race in order to best play to their strengths. Instead of focusing on being the frontrunner, players can focus to play as blockers and damage dealers to hinder their opponents. Every race has four random objectives that can earn extra points for a team. Every members' actions contribute to the team's overall standing. Even if you wipe out on the first turn and are out of the running for first place, you can then change your focus to helping your team's frontrunner instead and strive to slow down the opposing team. That way you're never truly out of the race and have something to contribute.
Just as in other racing mmorpg games, World of Speed boasts a wide range of real-life cars for players to drive. Gamers can earn and collect additional cars and house them in their own custom garage. Real world cities such as London, Moscow, and Monaco are painstakingly recreated for your racing pleasure. The developers spent weeks at each location in order to get the look and feel of each city right. Regular updates will include new cars and cities to race in.
World of Speed is a free-to-play racing mmo that amps up the social aspect by allowing players to showcase their looks and skills by forming clubs. These clubs have their own special club garage for members to congregate and they can customize their logos. Clubs can compete against other clubs, battle in high-stakes races in Territory Wars, and show off in the Airfield Playground. Clubs that control a track will have their name and logo emblazoned on it for all the other racers to see. The goal of World of Speed is simple: join a club, race cool cars, and dominate the track.
