Star Wars: The Old Republic Invasion

BioWare has committed a great deal of resources into updating Star Wars: The Old Republic, and their latest for the mmorpg is Game Update 2.7: Invasion. Launching tomorrow on April 8th, players will find themselves defending the Jedi and Sith home worlds from invasion in new level 55 flashpoints, along with a new Huttball zone, and the introduction of a new starfighter zone.

The centerpiece of the Invasion update for the SWTOR mmo is the new flashpoints. These are located on Tython and Korriban and introduce the new level 55 story arc "Forged Alliances," where the struggle between the Republic and the Empire take center stage. Players will invade the enemy's territory and will then have to defend their own. New npcs are introduced to deepen the already considerable lore of the game. Gamers will be able to meet the son of Jedi Grandmaster Satele Shan, Theron Shan, and Lana Beniko, a Sith Lord who is driven to find out the secrets of the Empire's enemies.

Other features in Star Wars: The Old Republic Update 2.7: Invasion include a new zone for Galactic Starfighter, the Denon Exosphere. This zone features densely populated cities that serve as a colorful backdrop for the 12v12 dogfights. For those looking for a challenge, there is the new Nightmare mode for The Dread Fortress. The five bosses are deadly but the rewards are mighty with a new tier of gear. Huttball fans can compete in the new Quesh warzone. The action takes place on a vertical field where you'll need to climb to the top in order to score.

With the recent addition of Galactic Starfighter and player housing on the horizon, a lot of fresh content is pouring into Star Wars: The Old Republic. Update 2.7: Invasion launches tomorrow on April 8th.
