Galactic Strongholds Delayed for Star Wars: The Old Republic
It looks like players will have to wait a bit before scouting various planets for a nice home as BioWare announced that the Star Wars: The Old Republic Galactic Strongholds expansion is being delayed. While this update for the mmorpg was scheduled to launch on June 24th, that date has now been pushed back to August 19th for early access by subscribers.
This change in the launch date is to allow SWTOR to add in more features to give players a more compelling experience. The most recent producer's letter states, "We have been listening to what you, our players, were hoping to see from the Galactic Strongholds expansion. When playing early builds of Galactic Strongholds it became that clear that our June Early Access date was simply not enough. For this to truly feel like an expansion, it needs to include the full set of features, including those originally coming later in the year."
Star Wars: The Old Republic will be adding in additional features into the Galactic Strongholds expansion with the additional time. Players can look forward to conquest events, expanded functions for Guild flagships, the new Tatooine homestead, and the ability to place vehicles, mounts, and companions as decorations in your strongholds. Subscribers to the mmo will get some perks due to the expansion being delayed. Some of the goodies that they will receive include an exclusive Subteroth minipet, two new character titles, and a Nar Shaddaa Sky Palace with five additional rooms unlocked. The launch date for SWTOR Galactic Strongholds will be September for preferred early access and then October for the official launch.
