SMITE Announces PAX and gamescom Tournaments

SMITE, the deity-brawling MOBA that recently added Chronos to its godly lineup, is certainly keeping active in the competive circuit. Hi-Rez Studios is hosting tournaments at two of gaming's biggest events, gamescom and PAX Prime.

For European SMITE fans, the first tournament will be held on Friday, August 23 at gamescom in Cologne, Germany. There will be four European teams competing for a prize pool of €15,000.

North American gamers, on the other hand, will enjoy the PAX Prime tournament in Seattle, Washington. This one takes place between August 30 and September 2, where four American teams will compete for $20,000.

Even if you're unable to attend the events in person, you don't have to completely miss out. Both will be streaming live on TwitchTV.

How are these competitors chosen? Through the SMITE Tournament Series, of course. This weekly competition takes place on Saturdays in North America and Sundays in Europe, and is streamed on SMITE's TwitchTV channel.

There's nothing like a MOBA to scratch that competitive itch.
