RF Online returns stateside as a free-to-play MMO under a new publisher GamesCampus by “late August.”

The re-released version of the free online rpg will continue to serve up exciting PvP free-for-alls. “RF Online pits players into a massive three-faction nonstop battle that equips them with everything from swords to nuclear weapons,” said GamesCampus in a release. The sci-fi MMORPG also encourages political rivalry through its Archon leader system.

RF Online was first shut down in November 2008 after the licence expired for its NA and EU publishers. Now, four years later, RF Online hopes to make a comeback having converted from paid subscription to a free model.

“GamesCampus is proud to partner with developer CCR to bring RF Online to a global audience in English, and completely free to play," said Hubert Yee, Head of Marketing at GamesCampus. "The two companies have been working closely together for months and we’re very excited to begin service for Rising Force Online in late August."

GamesCampus adds RF Online to its growing list of free rpg online games, which includes Shot Online, Drift City, Scarlet Legacy, Asda 2, 9 Dragons, Heroes In the Sky and Carte. Players looking forward to play the new RF online can start signing up for a GamesCampus account at rfonline.gamescampus.com
