Ragnarok Online 2 sequel advances to closed beta
Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second, the sequel to the smash hit Ragnarok Online, will be running its beta test until December 12.
Players need to download the client from the official website at www.PlayRO2.com, install the client and log in using their Facebook ID or an Asiasoft Play ID.
The closed beta version will contain the much-vaunted upgrades from the original Ragnarok, including the Card and Kafra systems, the Dual Life System, Social Emotes and the Khara System.
Ragnarok Online 2 also offers a significant visual upgrade with luscious 3D-rendered gameplay that developer Gravity says will rival the current crop of rpg games online.
Story-wise, Gravity said that while the classic Ragnarok revolves around the heroes with fragments of the powerful Heart of Ymir implanted within them, now these heroes follow the path of their forefathers through a world of adventure in a new game world powered by Gamebryo Engine. Still retained is the “charming and cheerful original storyline, with familiar, well-loved characters such as the Porings and Peco Pecos” but now set in “a glorious 3D environment.”
Gravity said closed beta testers can look forward to in-game events and exclusive perks such as the right to retain their in-game nicknames for the Open Beta, which starts on 27th December 2012.
