Ragnarok Online 2 launches on May 1
Ragnarok Online 2 (whose full official title is Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second) has been holding more than a dozen open beta events, and developers promise that a similar event-heavy pampering will be offered at the release.
Thousands of players have been participating in the open beta, drawn to Ragnarok Online 2’s pedigree. Its predecessor Ragnarok was at a time one of the most played rpg games online globally. Ragnarok charmed fans with its cute sprites and advanced class progression system. Ragnarok Online 2 is set to offer the same addictive gameplay and will be set in the shared universe where the original was set, but with much improved graphics that can compete with modern titles.
WarpPortal said it is spending this final week of beta to rush out upgrades and fixes drawn from player feedback. This possibly includes a bug where players get stuck while playing the game.
Servers are also being prepared to accommodate what is expected to be a massive onslaught of new players.
WarpPortal noted though that there are some places that it is not allowed to offer service because of other existing or upcoming service contracts in those regions. These territories are the South East Asia area (including Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore), Korea, Japan, China, and Brazil. Players from these territories are advised to sign up for the game via their respective game service providers.
