Nosgoth closed beta starts February 27 plus evolved skins teased
Get ready for vicious vampire-versus-human carnage as the Nosgoth closed beta kicks off tomorrow, September 27.
Psyionix design director Corey Davis announced the Nosgoth closed beta launch date through a short video package. He also teased the evolved skins for the Vampire clans which are currently being developed with esteemed Soul Reaver art lead Daniel Cabuco:
The video spends a few seconds teasing the concept art from which the actual in-game skins will be based, particularly the work in progress concept art for the Clan Turelim "Evolved" skin. From what we can see, it will have a stunningly detailed carapace-like armor that makes the bruiser race look formidable of the "I'll snap your human neck like a twig" kind.
These evolved skins are also being called the Nosgoth classic skins due to their heavy reference to the original series. Expect a finished concept art showcase and the full details for each of the evolved skins next week, then the final 3D models sometime after.
If Psyionix follows the format set by other rpg games online, then the closed beta will be for a limited number of by-invitation mmo players. But we'll see if they loosen up the entrance cord when more closed beta phase details get revealed just before the weekend.
