Neverwinter Shroud of Souls expansion launches

A new horror rises to threaten the city of Neverwinter in the form of a Dragonborn necromancer. Players will have their hands full in battling this new foe as the Neverwinter Shroud of Souls expansion is now live for the D&D-based mmorpg. Lukan, the last member of the Cloaked Ascendancy, accidentally released the necromancer, who controls the Shroud of Souls artifact that allows her to summon an army of wraiths.

Yet the Neverwinter Shroud of Souls expansion brings more than a new storyline to the game as Strongholds are getting a lot of love. The features of the Shroud of Souls expansion are:

New Story: The Cloaked Ascendancy has fallen, giving way to a new foe with plans to raise an army of wraiths to her side. Adventurers must battle evil spectral foes while traversing areas rife with spirits to overcome a necromancer.

New Loadouts Feature: Adventurers can now create gear loadouts to suit all of Neverwinter’s activities. Whether it’s dungeon delving, skirmishes, Strongholds, or PvP, quick swapping loadouts will get players between the activities they enjoy faster than ever.

New Strongholds Siege: Building off of The Cloaked Ascendancy’s dynamic “The Illusionist’s Gambit” skirmish, this new Siege event pits adventurers against several waves of enemies. After they’re defeated, adventurers will be able to continue defending their Stronghold or take their current rewards to bolster its advancement.

Customizable Guild Halls: Customizable Guild Halls give adventurers an all-new social space, as well as the opportunity to relive their adventures by showcasing their achievements in Neverwinter.

I know PvP players will love the new loadouts feature, but I'm always a sucker for more quests and narrative content. It's also great that the fantasy mmo is giving a good deal of attention to Strongholds, and I can't wait to check out the customizable guild halls. The Neverwinter Shroud of Souls expansion launches today for the PC and will be released later for consoles.
