LEGO Minifigures Online announces open beta
Way back in November, Funcom opened up access to their LEGO Minifigures Online closed beta tests, which have been running strongly ever since. Now, it's time for the entire mmo community to get involved, as the news spread that the devs are preparing the LEGO Minifigures Online open beta test.
Not too long ago, the LEGO franchise planted its first flag in the mmorpg market, with LEGO Universe, which sadly could not keep itself afloat, and left many gamers disappointed and crying out for something more immersive and fitting of the LEGO name.
Now, under a different creative helm, with the three LEGO cornerstones of "Smash, Build and Collect" as their guide, the new mmo is looking promising, and will hopefully stick around longer than its predecessor.
Today, Funcom's Executive Producer, Lawrence Poe, announced that they're setting a course for open beta this June, which will lead up to a full, free to play launch, on PC, iOS and Android, this fall.
"Open Beta is a significant milestone for any game, and I can say on behalf of the team that we are incredibly excited that players, young and old will soon have the opportunity to experience LEGO Minifigures Online for themselves."
If June sound simply too far away, you can click here and sign up for the closed beta, which is still ongoing.
