Here’s the full lowdown on the League of Legends NA summer qualifier
Final four teams will compete in $30,000 Winter Championship and, more importantly, vie for a spot at a League of Legends championship series seat.
Here’s how the League of Legends qualifier process will go: 16 teams, consisting of the Top 12 Challenger tier teams as of February 21 8PM PST plus the Top 4 teams from the MLG Rising Stars Invitational, will battle it out in a single elimination qualifier to be held at the end of February.
The quarterfinal matches – eight in total in a best-in-three knockout format – will be broadcast live at the MLG website starting February 4.
The top 4 teams in this single elimination qualifier will receive all-expenses paid trips to the MLG Winter Championship to be held in Dallas, Texas, to compete for $30,000 in cash prizes. The winning team will get the bulk reward of $20,000 plus a guaranteed spot in the May Promotion Tournament, which will serve as a gateway to the ultimate championship series.
With just a day before the Top 12 Challenger teams are selected, League of Legends hopefuls would do well to forget any and all mmo or rpg distractions to focus on claiming the top Challenger tier ranks.
