Turtle Beach Developing Headsets for Heroes of the Storm
Players of Blizzard's upcoming free to play mmo, Heroes of the Storm, will be able to listen in style. It was announced today that Turtle Beach has entered into a multi-year agreement with Blizzard Entertainment to develop PC gaming headsets for both casual and elite players. Fans of moba games are always looking for that extra advantage to bring them victory and having a headset by the leading audio brand in the gaming industry will be sure to help.
Turtle Beach has made seven of the top ten selling gaming headsets in 2013. Three of the headsets Turtle Beach is developing for Heroes of the Storm will be ones introduced in 2013: the surround sound Z SEVEN wired and Z300 wireless, as well as the stereo Z22 wired headset. Both companies are excited about the collaboration. Blizzard's chief operating officer Paul Sams states, "Turtle Beach shares our passion for gaming and can deliver world class gaming audio. Heroes of the Storm had a terrific reception at BlizzCon 2013, and we're looking forward to working with Turtle Beach to deliver the best possible audio experience for the game."
Turtle Beach's chief marketing officer Bob Picunko added, "Turtle Beach is very excited to announce this agreement with Blizzard around Heroes of the Storm. We are looking forward to launching state-of-the-art headsets for one of PC gaming’s most anticipated titles, and working with Blizzard to introduce them to both elite and casual players."
This news should generate some more hype for Heroes of the Storm as the mmo looks to go toe-to-toe with established moba games such as League of Legends. Blizzard is drawing from their rich history of games to populate the game, using characters from Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft franchises, along with its quicker battle times to entice players.
