Guild Wars 2 Super Adventure Box update unboxes next week
Guild Wars 2's Super Adventure Box update schools heroes on Survival 101 using a virtual reality simulator.
Here's the premise for this newest fortnightly Guild Wars 2 update: An asuran genius named Moto has returned with his virtual reality simulator invention, the Super Adventure Box, which was meant to educate young asura but has ended up schooling all willing participants in the mmorpg.
Players will be allowed to venture into the World 2 -- the virtual reality world made by the simulator -- and fight foes such as the Storm Wizard.
Those who ace the Storm Wizard test can consider taking on the more advanced Tribulation mode, which is said to offer "ridiculously challenging" challenges for even the most brilliant students.
The Super Adventure Box update also comes wrapped with three expanded and new features. First, the Weaponsmith, Artificer and Huntsman crafting disciplines now have a higher skill cap of 500. New recipes and new materials have also been discovered across the online rpg, paving the path to devastating Ascended weapons.
Second, Legendary weapons will be getting a stat boost and an Offensive Infusion slot in order to make them still desirable despite the new Ascended weapons. Many of the Legendaries are also getting aesthetic upgrades.
The third additional feature is the removal of the item stat Magic Find in favor of turning it into an account-wide bonus. Players can boost their account Magic Find using Essences of Luck earned by salvaging Fine or Masterwork items.
ArenaNet developers will be holding a livestream on the official Guild Wars 2 Twitch channel on Tuesday, September 3, at 12PM PDT to preview this new patch.
