Guild Wars 2's The Queen's Speech update airs on August 20
Queen Jennah reveals a "major surprise" to the world of Tyria.
Guild Wars 2's The Queen's Speech update is a continuation to The Queen's Jubilee update released on August 6, and will see the all-powerful ruler of Divinity's Reach deliver a moving speech that should have significant repercussions to the MMO game world.
Aside from keeping fans on the edge of their seats on what this momentous pronouncement will contain, the upcoming Queen's Speech update also showers the entire online rpg playerbase with birthday gifts in commemoration of the Guild Wars 2 first anniversary.
Guild Wars 2 turns a year old so it was only befitting that all characters that are also turning a year old -- meaning characters that were created on or before the August 28 launch day -- will receive a Mini Queen Jennah, a 24-hour Birthday Booster and a Scroll of Experience.
The anniversary shindig also includes the first-ever Anniversary Bash and Guild Wars 2 Invitational Tournament to be held on August 31 at the Renaissance Hotel in Seattle, WA.
For everyone else, the update offers sweet new improvements such as World vs. World XP and Point adjustments, as well as an mmorpg-wide increase in World XP rate. Players will also get access to the World vs. World Trebuchet Mastery. Developers even promises to remove the culling feature in PvE this patch, effectively eliminating the limit on the number of characters players can see on screen when doing massive PvE content such as dynamic hearts events and world boss fights.
ArenaNet will host a livestream to preview the features in the Queen’s Speech update on the official Guild Wars 2 Twitch channel on Tuesday, August 20 at 12PM PDT.
