Guild Wars 2's Cutthroat Politics Almost Here
ArenaNet recently made a strange commitment in regards to their mega-popular MMORPG Guild Wars 2. They've promised to deliver updates every other week, which they claim means they are "providing better content, faster, than any Western competitor."
The second of these bi-weekly updates, Cutthroat Politics, is out next week, on July 23. This update gives players the ability to vote for policies that will have permanent ramifications on the game world.
Intrigued? An official press release explained a bit about how this works: "In Cutthroat Politics, a vacant seat on the Captain’s Council of Lion’s Arch is up for grabs and two powerful figures have emerged as the leading candidates. Players will have the opportunity to support either the war hero Ellen Kiel or the prominent merchant Evon Gnashblade to fill the seat and strike a lucrative trade agreement with the merchants of the Zephyr Sanctum."
ArenaNet has set up mock campaigns for both candidates, which you can check out at the Guild Wars 2 website. Politics always brings out a strange side to people, and we're sure this campaign will add an interesting element to the world of Tyria.
Cutthroat Politics is set to bring some drama, as well as some new activities and challenges, on July 23.
