Frozen Hearth is a new MMORPG with RTS features. It is developed by Epiphany Games and published by Immanitas Entertainment. This is only the start as the developers are planning an entire Frozen Hearth saga. Adventures begin in Ámorrá, a fictional world. This world is inhabited by the Danaan, a human race. The greatest danger is the Shangur threat. These evil ice elementals have their minds set on world domination. Players will assume the role of leaders and safely guard their people. Missions and campaigns tell the Frozen Hearth story in detail. Players can group up for co-op gameplay and fight Shangur together. Frozen Hearth campaigns have more than 20 maps. This translates to countless hours of gameplay.
Players can fight each other in Frozen Hearth PvP matches. Different game modes have different rules and strategy. For PvP modes, players have 2 options. They can create a Danaan or Shangur character. Frozen Hearth has RPG character development and RTS matches. Frozen Hearth characters have a set of skills that can be improved. Powerful items and all sort of spells complete a Frozen Hearth character's profile. Units are part of the RTS features. Each Frozen Hearth faction (Danaan and Shangur) has 11 distinct units. Frozen Hearth units can be cavalry, infantry, melee or ranged. All of them have unique abilities. Building is the other Frozen Hearth RTS feature. The main building structure has 6 sub buildings. They offer unit improvements and customization. Players are encouraged to experience PvE content before jumping into PvP matches. This way they'll get familiar with basic Frozen Hearth mechanics and different types of units. Frozen Hearth is divided into 3 game acts, each with more missions. Strategy is an important part of PvP matches as you never know what to expect from human opponents.
At the moment of its release, Frozen Hearth has 5 PvP modes. Skirmish is one of the easiest modes. The player that defeats all opponents wins the match. This is the only rule. In Attrition mode, players start with a certain number of tickets. If units are lost in battle, the tickets number is also reduced and there's no way to gain it back. Players that lose all their tickets also lose the match. Assassination mode is similar to skirmish but has some extra conditions. King of the Hill is a Frozen Hearth mode that require players to capture and defend bases. The Crucible is a type of DotA game mode. All Frozen Hearth PvP modes can be played 1 vs. 1 or in a team. Frozen Hearth is powered by Gamebryo game engine. The graphic system displays beautiful landscapes and combat animations. Frozen Hearth might also be available through Steam in the future.
