Final Fantasy 14 advances to PS4 beta test part 2
Got nothing better to do this weekend? Maybe you'd like to participate in the Final Fantasy 14 PS4 beta test part 2, which is now live and lasts until April 7, Monday, 1:00AM PDT.
All you need is a PS4 console and you'll be good to go. Square Enix has even done away with the advance registration hurdle.
Just fire up your gaming system, head to the PlayStation Store, download the Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn (Beta Version), make some popcorn and drinks while waiting for installation to finish, and then boot up the online rpg from the home screen.
You will need a Square Enix account to log into the game, which if you don't have one, you can create it directly using the on-screen instructions.
This second phase of the PS4 beta test will be played on live game servers, so there's the added perk of being able to test out cross-platform play with PC and PS3 owners.
You'll also want to take the character creation and starter quests seriously, because new characters and player progress will be saved and carried over when the mmorpg launches on the next-gen console on April 14, Monday.
If during the beta test, the game impresses you, consider pre-ordering the Final Fantasy 14 PS4 version (Standard or the limited Collector’s Edition) to take advantage of the Early Access perk beginning April 11, Friday.
