Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn -- the take-two version of Square Enix's next-gen MMORPG -- has arrived on the Steam portal. The title is now on a special 50% off discount for a whole week until February 25, Tuesday, 10:00 AM PST.

The half-off discount will apply to both the Collector's Edition and Standard Edition for both North America and Europe players. If you have no idea what Steam is, it's basically a digital distribution platform for PC games, from shooters to rpg games online.

That means if you're looking for the console (read: PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 versions)n, you won't find it on sale on Steam.

In fact, the Final Fantasy 14 PS4 version is still revving up for its beta test which is set to kick off in a few days on February 22.

What's the difference between the Final Fantasy 14 steam version and console versions? Both deliver great visuals that are the trademark of the videogame series -- just take a look at this PS4 trailer:

The few nuances comes in hardware and software functionality, with the PS4 version supporting remote play on the PS4 Vita system as well as touchpad and mouse-keyboard play, plus social play features.

If you can't wait for the PS4 version, the next best thing would be to just buy the currently discounted Steam PC box and just activate the awesome cross-platform capabilities down the road to play with PS3 and PS4 friends on the same server.
