Everquest 2 Goes Live with Qeynos Rises (Game Update 64)
One of the most iconic cities in the Everquest 2 game debuts as a revitalized metropolis care of the new Qeynos Rises update, the 64th for the long-standing MMO, and is packed with visual enhancements as well as PvP combat upgrades.
The human city of Qeynos has new revamped areas combined from four to two zones with “amazing” designs as the majestic Qeynos Palace overlooks the city, according to an announcement post from developer Sony Online Entertainment.
Together with the graphics lift, Qeynos is also filled with new intrigues and racial quests. “The new Qeynos is rife with intrigue and conflict as the city, Queen Antonia Bayle, and the Circle of Ten evolve and struggle to oversee the welfare of the goodly folk of Norrath,” said SOE.
“The new racial quests, which are available at all levels, offer historical lore and an introduction to your origins as well as a sense of your place within your race while experiencing Qeynosian struggles. The new class and storyline quests, starting at level 20, drop you amidst the city’s strife with your brethren all the way to the high court,” the Everquest 2 developer added.
PvP improvements, meanwhile, include cross-functional PvP gear that can be used in PvE combat as well as revised achievements, infamy, bounty and a new token earning system. Also, Battlegrounds are now “level-agnostic” so that level 30 to 89 characters, and level 90 to 92 characters can play together, respectively – a PvP feature that is becoming more popular among RPG Games as of late.
