Elder Scrolls Online AMA grapples with all things PvP
It’s all about PvP in the latest installment of Elder Scrolls Online’s ask-me-anything fan correspondence.
Elder Scrolls Online developers revealed that siege weapons can be obtained and constructed by anyone that has enough Alliance Points to purchase them, which should make for a crazy time in PvP as everyone can potentially unleash the power of siege weapons. Siege weapons are also primarily stationary – rams are the only mobile ones – and can be repositioned after deployment should they be needed in other parts of the map.
PvP guilds – the core organization in the online rpg’s fast-paced faction warfare – will be glad to hear that there will be groups of larger sizes than four. This will allow for more tactical campaigns as guilds can coordinate their movements and actions.
Elder Scrolls Online has also one thing that will set it apart from the other mmorpgs: The option to starve out enemy keeps by surrounding them en masse. Invading forces can effectively deprive enemy keeps of precious resources – lumber mills, farms, and mines – that are essential to its upgrade process.
“Taking control of resources around keeps also shuts off various patrols in the vicinity, so it’s always advantageous to take resources before laying siege to the keep itself,” said developers in the Q&A.
But there were a few things that were kept under wraps, such as what specific benefits and perks for capturing and holding keeps. Developers only said that these benefits will only last as long as the Alliance controls ownership of the territory.
