Team NP Punches Their Ticket to the 2017 Dota 2 Asia Championships
With the 2017 Dota 2 Asia Championships just a scant few months away, one team of mmo warriors have punched their ticket to the tournament. Team NP won the grand finals of the Americas Qualifier by defeating Digital Chaos by a final tally of 2-0, thus earning them a spot in Shanghai.
The qualifier for the 2017 Dota 2 Asia Championships pitted Team NP against Digital Chaos. In both games, viewers watched the return of the Vanguard Invoker build for Digital Chaos' Aliwi "w33" Omar. The first match saw Team NP implement an aggressive game plan, using the lineup of Ursa and Spirit Breaker to wear down DC over the course of the match. While DC held a kill advantage for most of the match, they conceded the win to Team NP after 35 minutes of battling.
The second game between Team NP and Digital Chaos started off pretty balanced, but Team NP found the right way to disrupt the strategy of DC through the work of support duo Avery "SVG" Silverman and Theeban "Rose" Siva, forcing Digital Chaos to play at NP's pace. The second game lasted longer than the first, but Team NP took the win after 41 minutes.
With the win at the qualifier, Team NP has secured a spot at the 2017 Dota 2 Asian Championships, which is slated to begin on April 1st. The tournament for the free mmo has a prize pool of $500,000, of which 12 teams will be competing for. Team NP noted on their Twitter account that this tournament marked the first time that they beat Digital Chaos. Our congratulations to Team NP on their win, and we wish them luck in the 2017 DAC.
