The DOTA2 Dreamleague has arrived
A new DOTA 2 pro league announced its first appearance today; the ASUS ROG Dreamleague will be launching at Dreamhack Winter!
Dreamleague is already gathering speed and has signed its first collective of pro's. We're already seeing some big, heavy hitters lining up to take part in the league, which boasts $50,000 in prizes for competitors in the opening season.
Teams so far include; Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid, Alliance, FNatic, Natus Vincere and Team Virtus. Dreamlegue is also picking up some huge partners, and there's no question that other prizes and bonuses are going to make their way to the battle RPG's latest league.
A First, Second, and a kick-off season are already in production, with its first appearance scheduled to be at Dreamhack on November 4th. The kick-off season will feature the 6 teams mentioned above and will start the ball rolling in what is set to be one of the biggest eSports endeavors to date, and definitely a sign for fans of competitive MMO's, that big things are on the way.
Following the kick-off season, Dreamleague season 1 will feature 12 of the world's top DotA 2 teams, across 3 divisions; North American, Western European and Eastern European, who will compete over 3 months for the $100,000 prize-pot.
The league is hoping to become the worlds most prestigious DotA 2 league, and has already secured localized, mainstream TV coverage in Scandinavia through the Swedish network, TV6. It will, of course, also have livestream coverage on Twitch for everybody else.
