DOTA 2 Frostivus celebration pushing through this year
Last year DOTA 2 fans held a collective sigh of disappointment at the cancellation of the Frostivus celebration. Thankfully, this year it's going full steam ahead!
"Events beyond our control caused last year’s wintry celebration to be cancelled, but this year we’re not letting anything stop us," said Valve in its official blog announcing the Frostivus festivities.
There's no date yet on when Frostivus will drop on the MMO MOBA servers, but what we've gathered from the event teaser page is that there will be wreaths and gifts involved.
Developers will be celebrating a Wreath-night, which is described as a warm and fuzzy gathering for DOTA 2 fans.
"Collect bright winter berries and sprigs of fir, and twist them together into mementos for family and friends. Doze off to the smell of simmering rumbutter, assured that the spirits of Frostivus Eve are conspiring to grant your wildest dreams of peace and friendship."
How that translates into the actual game, we will have to find out when Frostivus goes live.
Aside from Wreath-night, there fans can honor their online rpg friends and worthy foes through gift-giving. During Frostivus, Radiant and Dire may gather to play games and exchange gifts.
"Find the Frostivus Wish-List of some worthy friend or prickly foe, and play the role of Furtive Frostus, gifting them with something they didn't know they wanted," instructs Valve.
