Prepare for the New Bloom Festival in DotA 2
Just in time for Chinese New Year, (the Year of the Horse, for anyone who's interested) DotA 2 is putting on its own new year celebration.
Rather than the Year of the Horse; in the Dota 2 New Bloom Festival, they'll be celebrating the coming of the Year Beast, who emerges and reap chaos on the rpg realm.
"Each year, as the dark and cold of winter turns back from its peak, wild energies that have slumbered through the long months begin to twist and pool. From this mire of eldritch power, as the first flowers begin to bloom, the Year Beast takes form to bellow its savagery and its hunger."
Tackling the Year Beast has its risks, but those willing to step up to the plate will be greatly rewarded, as the Beast is covered in rare materials that have been drawn into the mmo arena, attracted its terrible power.
Flamesalt Ingots, that appear on the field, can be fashioned into trinkets and tools to distract the Beast and cause damage on the sporadically emerging foe. Harvests of the Flamesalt Ingots can be increased through the purchase of the Fortune's Favor Luck Talisman, which will also you to find Jade Tokens, which can be traded for Bloom Bounties. Bloom Bounties, and battling with the Year Beast will earn you exclusive items and recipes, all the wy up to the rather impressive Redhoof Courier.
If you're really in need of Ingots, offerings from your armory can be made, and should the Eight Shades of Fortune, consider them sufficient, you will be rewarded. The New Bloom Festival will begin, aligned with the Chinese New Year, on January 31st.
