Diablo 3 for PS3 pre-orders have begun
Selected retailers are now taking pre-orders for the action online rpg’s first-ever console version debuting on PlayStation 3.
Diablo 3 for PS3 costs $59.99, and pre-ordering it will net you an Infernal Helm, a smoldering faceguard that should strike fear among the infernal demons out to destroy the world of Sanctuary. The item can only be used on the Diablo 3 PS3 version, which releases on December 31, 2013.
Pre-ordering also bestows bonus XP to the player on launch day, all but ensuring you stay ahead in the leveling race.
So far, 18 countries are offering pre-orders. For the United States, the participating retailers as of this posting consist of the triumvirate of Amazon, Gamestop and Walmart.
For international fans, the Diablo 3 console page (http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/console/) has information on the available retailers, if any, in your country. Blizzard said the list is preliminary and players can check back for additions in the coming days.
Specific retailers offer unique freebies as well, which should make the choice more compelling. For example, Amazon is offering exclusive digital wallpaper on top of the Infernal Helm and XP bonus for those who pre-order.
The PS3 version will play pretty much like the already released PC version, but optimized for the often couch-sitting console crowd instead of the MMORPG and desktop computer-playing cohort.
