Diablo 3 console versions can now be downloaded
Blizzard's action rpg romp has hit the Xbox Live and Sony Entertainment Network as full digital downloads.
Console fans now can simply log on to their respective networks, press a few download buttons and wait until the game is loaded up to their consoles -- all without ever having to step out of their jammies.
Either digital download version will set you back $59.99.
For the Diablo 3 PS3 download version, the sale site has trial demos in English and French for you to munch on before paying for the full price. The version can accommodate solo play up to 4-player co-op adventuring, and will require a 12MB minimum save size. It supports Dualshock 3, and can be downloaded to up to 2 console systems associated with the purchasing account. For those who want a fuller experience, the Playstation site also offers the Diablo 3: Infernal Helm add-on pack for $4.99.
Meanwhile, the Diablo 3 Xbox 360 download version has a 6.70 GB size and also supports up to 4-man hack-and-slash action as well as Dolby Digital sound. Xbox 360 players can even coordinate more effectively against those hellish bosses by fully utilizing the voice chat feature. The Xbox version also allows for the add-on upgrade with Diablo 3: Infernal Helm for $4.99
It took about a month for the digital download versions for Diablo 3 for PS3 and Xbox to arrive, but later is better than never especially for MMORPG veterans and other download-only die-hards who can't be bothered -- or simply have no near store -- to run to grab a box.
