Darkfall sequel, Darkfall Unholy Wars, has launched
Darkfall Unholy Wars is available for digital distribution on the official Darkfall website, www.darkfallonline.com and is being sold for $40. This price includes the client and 30 days of unlimited game access. Darkfall Unholy Wars will become available on other distribution platforms "in the days and weeks to come" said the developer.
Both the original Darkfall and the sequel Darkfall Unholy Wars will be sandbox PvP-focused rpg games with a preoccupation for epic multiplayer combat. Players will feel the difference as the sequel uses a more intense, real-time fighting system that developers said will demand and reward skill, tactics, and lightning reflexes.
The Darkfall Unholy Wars world of Agon is as massive as it is immersive. It is also very inclusive, with a host of features, options and game styles for virtually every type of gamer imaginable.
"Darkfall Unholy Wars combines real-time action and strategy in a fantasy setting and pushes the envelope of massively multiplayer games by featuring the largest seamless and zone-less world of its kind, able to host upwards of ten thousand concurrent users per world," said Adventuring S.A.
Another differentiating factor for the Darkfall sequel is that it is a world without instances. Progression flows smoothly without any of the usual roadblocks to player interaction that are meant to prevent players from progressing on their desired pace.
Social and battle-thirsty players will also feel right at home in Darkfall Unholy Wars. They can form clans, recruit friends and allies, and engage in epic land and naval battles to conquer fortresses and clan cities. Developers expect thousands of concurrent players to participate in the campaigns, resulting in memorably massive PvP conflicts.
