Aventurine divulge plans for Darkfall Unholy Wars
There has been some reshuffling over at the Aventurine studios, and in this week's Darkfall Unholy Wars blog, they have declared the outcome, and what they'll be doing to move the PvP-centric mmo forward.
We are committed to our original vision of a politically and economically driven sandbox PvP MMO, where risk dictates the reward, leading to meaningful massive battles. Sandbox is part of our culture and, to us, it’s the essence of gaming, rather than a current industry trend."
According to the Darkfall Team, their next steps, in order to enhance their mmorpg, will come in 4 different areas; Custom Roles, Economy Rebalancing, Siege Engines and the introduction of a comprehensive Quest System.
The addition of Custom Roles means players will be able to customize their combat capablities, defining their own role. They'll do this by bolting on boosters and perks to their character. It's a unique way to select a role and should result in tonnes of weird and wacky setups.
Over the next few patches, higher tiered tools and resource nodes are said to be trickling into the mmo. As mentioned in their statement, risk will dictate reward from now on, meaning fortune will favor the bold.
Lastly, the inclusion of Siege Engines and quests means that players will get some new experiences and more diversity and replayability. The next batches of lore will be fed through rewarding quests, unlockable perks and with the soon-to-be siege equipment, such as heavy catapults, battering rams and siege towers; there'll be some big, memorable battles heading our way.
