Overview

Knowledge is power in Brain Storm, the strategy mmo developed by Genia. In this mmorts, players engage in a timed race to build the most powerful oracle by using brains, not muscles, to achieve victory. Fast reflexes, overwhelming firepower, and economic might mean nothing in this game as players have to use real-world knowledge to further their goals and deny their opponents.

The overall goal of Brain Storm is that each player attempts to build the most powerful oracle in the game. An oracle is a monument to your superior intellect in relation to the other players. Each players takes the helm of a city, which is part of a vast world. To expand your city, you'll have to acquire knowledge which requires you to use your real-life knowledge. Players will travel the globe, collect resources, and use their intelligence to increase productivity. Players can explore with up to 21 experts to acquire the knowledge found around the game world. The more knowledge you acquire within the game, the more powerful your oracle becomes.

Players go head to head with other players as each game can involve up to 5000 players. Each game in this free to play mmo has a duration of 30 days. To help pool their knowledge, players can form alliances in Brain Storm. Players can collectively work on constructive projects using their shared know-how. At the game's conclusion, the  alliance with the most powerful oracle is the winner and play begins anew.

Every facet of the game is tied to the player's knowledge, from upgrading the player's city to attacking enemies or defending against said enemies. Players can challenge one another in an attempt to slow them down and to gain access to their findings. Unlike the vast majority of mmos, conflicts between players in Brain Storm aren't handled through traditional combat, but by the successful wielding of knowledge.

Brain Storm uses traditional rts mechanics such as researching new technologies, expanding cities, and upgrading structures and units. The twist is that everything is powered by the knowledge that the players acquire through gameplay by using their intellect. Competition is fierce as that every player is after the same knowledge, so you'll have to use your smarts to be quicker and to slow your enemies down. Developed over a span of four years, this "knowledge-powered" rts allows players to flex their brain muscles in order to achieve victory. Unleash the power of your intellect and let the mental revolution begin!
