Pokemon Go anniversary events announced

This summer is going to be scorching for Pokemon Go players as the mobile game is celebrating several milestones. First is the fact that the game has been downloaded 750 million times, which is an astounding feat. Second is that the first Pokemon Go anniversary is close at hand, which will be celebrated in several ways.

Pokemon Go Fest Chicago

First up is the Pokemon Go Solstice Event that begins on June 13th. This in-game event will feature Fire and Ice-type Pokemon, discounted Lucky Eggs in the game's shop, and huge XP bonuses for throwing Poke Balls accurately. After this event ends, a new update will be released that will add new features for collaborative gameplay. The game will be disabling Gyms for a short time in order to usher in these new changes. Players have long been clamoring for more ways to play with others, and it looks like some of their pleas will be answered. But there's more stuff coming for the first ever Pokemon Go anniversary!

Trainers can flock to the Pokemon Go Fest Chicago for the very first live event for the game. This live event will take place on July 22nd at Grant Park, Chicago, and tickets go on sale June 19th. Players in Europe are not left out as a series of celebrations are scheduled to be held at Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers from June through September. The first Pokemon Go anniversary also has the upcoming "Pikachu Outbreak" event that will be held in Yokohama, Japan. A full schedule for these events will be released in the near future.

Unlike most mobile games, Pokemon Go is going all-out for their very first anniversary. First there's the Pokemon Go Solstice Event in less than one week, which is to be followed by an update that will bring in new collaborative gameplay features. Then there's the Pokemon Go Fest Chicago live event, which will be followed by additional events in Europe as well as the Pikachu Outbreak experience in Japan. Overall, it's going to be a busy summer for those looking to catch them all!
