World of Tanks Comic Book, Roll Out, Blitzing into Shops Next Week

Online games use a variety of mediums to expose their product to as many people as possible. Gamers can learn about a game from books, audio dramas, figurines, posters, and story-based trailers. However, the World of Tanks mmofps goes a little bit farther than most online games. has upped the ante by sponsoring such events as Tankfest in the UK, and they're now expanding into a realm owned by costumed superheroes: comic books. Yep, that's right. You will be able to pick up a World of Tanks comic book, called Roll Out, next week on August 31st as has partnered with Dark Horse Comics.

The World of Tanks Roll Out comic is set during the epic tank battles of 1944 after the D-Day landings in Normandy. The World of Tanks comic book follows a crew of young British tankers as they push towards a battalion of seasoned German armored units. The British tankers are being closely pursued by the German military, which means that the danger continues to escalate as they travel across battle-scarred France.

The World of Tanks comic book is written by some legendary industry veterans. The comic is written by Garth Ennis, who has written a series you may have heard of called Preacher (he's also written for several Punisher comics as well). Illustrations for the World of Tanks Roll Out comics are done by Carlos Ezquerra, the genius behind titles like Judge Dredd and Strontium Dog. Covers for all the issues are by Isaac Hannaford (Halo: Reach, The Punisher).

The World of Tanks comic book features the British Cromwell, which was known as "Snakebite." The mmo fps will feature some in-game premium tank bundles that tie-in with the comic, such as the Snakebite Crew Skill that improves accuracy.
