New German and Soviet vehicles roll into World of Tanks
World of Tanks Update 8.5 beefs up the light and medium tanks line-up of both European powerhouses.
World of Tanks developer Wargaming also unveiled a more accessible economy, as players will now be able to purchase all premium consumables with silver credits. Free players of this military strategy mmo will also get to create 3-member platoons and companies similar to their subscription-paying comrades.
The German tech tree will receive more formidable medium tanks led by the Leopard 1, described as “a deadly Tier X all-rounder effective in both long-range and close combat.” Their versatility and sheer firepower make them a fearsome presence in the battlefield.
Meanwhile, the Soviet tech tree gets a trio of fantastic light tanks: the T-60, T-70 and the T-80. All three tanks were created during the early days of World War II, and assisted the Red Army in successful campaigns with their respectable armor and deflection angles that belied that small size. Their true strength though lies in their ability to stay concealed from enemies, opening up windows for surprise raids and counterattacks.
In addition to these new tanks, the fps mmo receives another map called Pearl River, as well as a visual revamp of three existing maps -- Siegfried Line, South Coast and Malinovka.
