E3 2013 - World of Tanks Comes to Xbox 360
World of Tanks has been incredibly popular on the PC, recently passing the 60 million registered user mark. But soon, it will be coming to a larger audience than ever before. Today, Microsoft announced at their pre-E3 press conference that the tank-based military MMO will be coming to the Xbox 360.
For those who haven't tried it yet, the game pits authentic World War II-era tanks against each other in highly strategic battles.
Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming, had this to say: "Wargaming has always been dedicated to finding new ways to bring our games to new players and platforms. Our partnership with Microsoft and our move to the hugely successful Xbox 360 will give millions of gamers around the world the opportunity to experience what has made World of Tanks such a global phenomenon."
World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition will be available this summer, bringing 15-on15 battles to the console. The game will continue its free-to-play legacy, but it will require an Xbox Gold account. This will be the first time that one of Wargaming.net's titles is available for console gamers, a feat worthy of celebration.
In fact, to celebrate all of its success, Wargaming has set up a 10,000 square foot booth on the E3 showroom floor. We'll try our best to stop by later this week and dig up some more details.
