World of Tanks Kicks off 360 Beta

World of Tanks, the tank-battling MMO from Wargaming, has been incredibly popular. So popular, in fact, that an Xbox 360 version was announced during E3. Well, it was announced today that the beta servers are now live in North America, Canada, and Europe, so console gamers can get their online historical tank fix.

Denny Thorley, General Manager at Wargaming West in Chicago, was eager to share his excitement. “From our early technical beta testing we’ve seen tremendous numbers of players get into the game and experience first-hand what made World of Tanks such a global phenomenon,” he said. “We’re extremely thankful for their input on how the game is coming along and can’t wait to get even more players from North America, Canada, and Europe into the game.”

Here are a few details about this version of the game, pulled straight out of the official press release: "World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition will deliver an exciting, tactical warfare experience where team-based coordination is the key to victory, all built exclusively from the ground up for the Xbox 360. Taking full advantage of Xbox Live, the title will support a rich and deep progression and customization system, including features such as achievements and Live matchmaking."

Access tokens will be handed out on a weekly basis to those who have registered, and we've been told that more regions will be announced soon.
