Warframe to launch first on PS4 in November, before Xbox One
The free to play mmo shooter will serve as a PlayStation 4 exclusive for three whole months.
Warframe is scheduled to release on November 15 stateside then two weeks later on November 29 in Europe. Given the three-month exclusive period confirmed by developer Digital Extremes, this puts the Xbox One release sometime in March 2014 at the earliest.
Commenting on why the PS4 is receiving the first dibs privilege on the popular MMO shooter -- it has attracted millions of players in the already released PC version -- Digital Extremes creative director Steve SinClair said the platform partnership simply fits like a glove.
“Games are reaching players hands in so many different ways now and Sony gets it, which is why we are bringing Warframe exclusively to the PS4 first. There’s no reason not to download Warframe on day 1 if you’re an action game lover – it’s free!"
Warframe was released for the PC earlier this year, offering a scintillating sci-fi MMOFPS experience where players take control of cryogenically awakened Tenno survivors in either solo combat or four-man team battles.
Developers said the Warframe PS4 version was built to take advantage of the next-gen console's extensive social connectivity features. It also taps into the more powerful features offered by the upgraded DualShock 4, including touchpad and integrated audio capabilities.
