Warface hands-on headed for Gamescom 2013
Taking place in the Cologne Exhibition Centre, this year's Gamescom convention will allow Warface fans to step into a scale model Chinook helicopter and test out the team-based co-op and competitive modes.
The Warface hands-on booth will be located in Hall 7.1, area A 031. For business visitors attending the show, Crytek’s business booth can be found in Hall 4.1, area A 037.
This marks the second Gamescom in a row where Warface will be in attendance. But since Gamescom 2012 the game has gone through significant progress.
In fact, developer Crytek announced that the MMOFPS will advance into a "new closed beta testing phase" starting August 21. This fresh closed beta round will let players in North America, Europe and Turkey to experience the latest game version via GFACE.
All four soldier classes will be available to play as well during this new closed beta, as well as team-based abilities and customization options that add depth to the FPS MMO experience.
Registrations for the next closed beta phase are still open and interested players can apply for it at www.warface.com.
It should be noted that Warface is taking its sweet time testing the game before moving into a more public open beta and release. The title officially went into closed beta testing back in January, meaning developers have already spent more than half a year fine-tuning everything with feedback from closed beta fans.
Crytek also encouraged Gamescom 2013 attendees who will be trying out Warface to also check out the developer's other titles showing on the convention floor, including the upcoming Xbox One exclusive, Ryse: Son of Rome to be featured at the Microsoft booth in Hall 5, area C 040. Business visitors can find Microsoft’s business center in Hall 5, area C 030.
