1337 Games has swung the doors wide open and is letting everyone into the Tactical Intervention open beta.

Players aching to take up firearms in the online shooter MMO simply need to download and install the Tactical Intervention game client via the Steam website.

The MMOFPS has been riding high on a successful and high-demand closed beta test with beta keys reportedly running out within a few minutes, according to the developers.

With the open beta now underway though, there should be no shortage of space for anyone who wants to test out the new title from Minh "Gooseman" Le, a co-developer for the seminal first-person shooter Counter Strike.

Along with the open beta announcement, 1337 Games also confirmed the content that will be available during launch. A total of 11 maps should be accessible when Tactical Intervention releases on September 12, with two additional maps Airport and Monaco already in the "finishing touches" stage and presumably could go live any day now.

Players in Europe, North America and Russia will have less than two weeks to take Tactical Intervention for a test drive before it officially launches as a free to play title on Steam.

The rest of the confirmed release markets -- namely, Asia, Australia and South America -- will get the official release later on October 1.
