Tactical Intervention goes live in North America
The team-based MMOFPS launches with all guns blazing.
Tactical Intervention, which has attracted much attention because of its developer pedigree as the new project of Counter Strike co-creator Minh “Gooseman” Le, debuts in North America today. Servers officially open to the public at 10AM(PST), 1PM(EST).
Le said Tactical Intervention should showcase cool new approaches to the classic FPS shooter mechanics, and promised to support the fps mmo with a constant stream of content and guns.
“Tactical Intervention gave me the freedom to implement some features into an FPS that I've always wanted to do, so I'm excited to see the gaming community check it out,” said Le.
Tactical Intervention’s key features include The Infamous Highway Mission, a counter-terrorism scenario where players get behind the wheel while engaging in a violent shoot-out. Players can take on either the role of the terrorist hell-bent on fulfilling the mission, or play as the counter-terrorist squad with crafty methods for capture.
The shooter also has other map modes, including Team Deathmatch, Hostage Grab/Rescue, and Bomb Plant/Defuse.
Part of what makes Tactical Intervention stand out is its heavy focus on team tactics instead of solo run-and-gunning. Players will have to work together to beat the opposing team, and each member will need to think on his or her feet because of the dynamic map environments filled with vulnerable civilians, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, and even the option to rappel from the rooftop for a sneaky overhead assault.
