Valkyrie aircraft heading for PlanetSide 2
Back in February, we reported on PlanetSide 2's future, and their newly declared roadmap, specifying what changes they had planned for the mmo, and, most importantly; when we'll be getting them.
Staying true to the gospel of their 2014 roadmap; in his latest announcement to the dedicated SOE corps, Creative Director, Matt Higby talked about some of the new changes and features planned for the PlanetSide 2 updates, which are heading for the mmo in April and May.
In April there are some major balance changes slated for PlanetSide 2, which not only means tweaking the current arsenals in each empire, but also by providing additional and more unique weapons too. April will also see the new, long-promised mission system going Live, which will provide some healthy injections of new game content into the scene. The mission system was first detailed in January and has drawn a lot of interest from players.
One of the biggest game-changes heading to the mmofps is the addition of the Valkyrie aircraft, which are being prepped to land some time in late summer.
The never before seen Valkyrie aircraft will privde small squads of up to four the ability to launch fast, punchy attacks across three different chopper roles. One player will get the dedicated pilot's seat, another will be the main gunner and the last two will be active passengers, with the ability to spot, shoot and even drop from the aircraft on command.
The team is hoping that the Valkyrie will allow for small teams to jump from battle to battle, getting in on all the action, delivering some punches, and the running off to the next skirmish.
The Valkyrie should be heading to the test servers shortly, so keep your eyes peeled.
