GunZ 2 launches community beta
The GunZ 2 community beta has begun, and it's designed to get valuable player feedback as the mmo third-person shooter nears its 2014 launch.
"The aim of the community beta is also to begin a continuous service and to successfully optimise the hosting system, matchmaking system and network code," said GunZ 2 publisher ProSiebenSat.1 in a release.
Korean developer Maiet Entertainment will spend the first few weeks of the community beta rolling out improvements in these three critical areas. After which players can give their feedback via the newly launched community beta forum, which developers will use for succeeding patch upgrades.
The publisher said the community beta will no longer require a closed beta key. Those interested in jumping into the community beta simply need to register at the official GunZ 2 website and log in to the MMOFPS.
There's something for everyone in the community beta whether you are a new player or a veteran tester, including competitions and events. Also, expect community managers to pop in frequently in the game and in the forums to talk to players and make everyone feel right at home.
GunZ 2 launches sometime in 2014 as a free to play title for the PC. Players can choose from three starter classes -- Silent Avenger, Gunslinger or Shield Trooper -- with more to be added post-launch.
