arma 3 alpha release march

Bohemia Interactive is releasing a playable Alpha version of its military mmofps starting next week with the admission price at around 30 bucks.

The Arma 3 Alpha version, described as featuring “a limited amount of playable and sandbox content”, will remain available until the beta phase starts, according to Bohemia Interactive.

Arma 3 will have the following playable content: Four showcase missions (Infantry, Vehicles, SCUBA and Helicopter), a “limited” subset of weapons and vehicles, two multiplayer scenarios and a working scenario editor. Modding support will also be available in Alpha.

Arma 3 Alpha will take place in the 20 sq km island of Stratis right off the coast of the Arma 3 main island Altis.
Those who want to participate in the Arma 3 Alpha will need to purchase the Arma 3 Alpha pack ($32.99) or the Arma 3 Digital Deluxe Edition ($49.99). Purchasing either version box also unlocks guaranteed access to the Arma 3 Beta as well as the final game upon release, which is scheduled sometime in Q3 2013.

Bohemia Interactive warns that the current prices for both Alpha and Digital Deluxe Edition packs will increase on release. Dedicated fans of the mmo shooter would want to pick the game up at an effective discount.
