Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen Demo Video Released
Just when you think that Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is completely done and over, something new pops up. The mmorpg failed at funding their game on Kickstarter, attracting only $460,000 out of an $800,000 goal, and their website recently posted that any donations given to them now would just be for site maintenance and not for development. Yet out of the blue, today we got a Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen demo video posted on Facebook.
The Pantheon demo video shows some of the current textures and animations currently in place. The video is rough, but we have to remember that this is a pre-alpha build, so it's actually further along than I thought it would be. Brad McQuaid said that the video needed to be posted ASAP for undisclosed reasons. My assumption would be that the primary reason for the haste is probably due to enticing investors to help fund the game's development. As for the video itself, he says, "Very rough first draft of longer video, using latest build (4/11/14). Has some texture errors (purple stuff) in one section. Needs work, but is better than nothing and shows how far we got on the prototype/demo. I plan on making a demo #2, more thought out, polished, ambient music, etc., but this needed to go out ASAP for a variety of reasons."
I hope that the Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen demo video does help attract additional funding as I think that the game has a lot of interesting concepts behind it. While the demo video is unpolished due to the early build, I really liked the skeletal warrior and the undead arms bursting out of the ground. I hope that this game is eventually successful, but the mmo marketplace is becoming increasingly crowded. You can view the video here on the game's official Facebook page.
