Monster Madness Online announced
A new MMO has reared its head and, on the same day, has already began alpha testing. Trendy Entertainment and Nom Nom Games are inviting players to get in early and try out the browser based mmofps for themselves.
Monster Madness Online is a free-to-play multiplayer action shooter RPG/MMO (or, as the developers have suggested, FTPMASRPGMMO, for short) and will be available for a host of different platforms including; Mac, PC, Linux, Windows Mobile, Android and iOS devices.
The shooter is a fun, light-hearted, tongue in cheek take on the zombie apocalypse genre, featuring bright colors, wild effects and beautifully, chunky artwork. The cel-shaded graphics are looking fantastic and the menus are, so far, coming across as well presented and easy to use. So, hopefully this one will make a swift transition through alpha, closed beta, open beta, public test server phase, and whatever other milestones MMO Games go through these days to land on our laps before the real zombie apocalypse comes and wipes us all out for good!
Characters are customizable and will level up as you slay your way through suburbia in a variety of different modes, ranging from PvP to PvE and even hardcore permadeath.
Interestingly, for a free-to-play browser MMO, the game is steering away from the ever-popular HTML5 model that most modern developers opt for, and will be rocking a supercharged Unreal engine under the hood, thanks to some C++ and asm.js trickery, which critics are touting as the future for launching high-powered games through browsers.
