LEGO Minifigures Online to launch late 2014, trailer released
Funcom has revealed the official name, release period and trailer for its upcoming LEGO MMO.
To be called LEGO Minifigures Online, the MMO game is scheduled to come out in the second half of 2014.
Watch the official LEGO Minifigures Online trailer for a sampling of the rollicking adventures to be had in this action rpg-slash-blockbuilding game:
In the trailer, we see that Funcom will be bringing a lot of LEGO minifigures to life into full-fledged classes, each with unique abilities and attacks. From the screens, we see that there will be dozens of available classes such as plumbers, mechanics, DJs and tomahawk warriors.
For players who don't care so much for smashing faces, the MMO will also offer building and collecting activities, to be done solo or with a group of online friends.
The sandbox nature of LEGO Minifigures Online is in line with the developers' goal to create "maximum accessibility" for the game, presumably enticing gamers of all ages across all genre preferences.
Funcom is also keen on capturing most of the LEGO Minifigures franchise’s multi-million fan base through a multi-platform release on the PC, iOS and Android systems.
