The new Warhammer 40k: Eternal Crusade advances
Despite the sad loss of the eventual shutdown of Warhammer Online in December, the table-top franchise's interest in MMO gaming has never waned and production for the next chapter in their 40k series has powered forwards. First announced in June, the upcoming MMORPG, Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade has been keeping quiet, but keeping busy, and has updated beleaguered crusaders with the news that the new title is making tracks.
David Ghozland, the game's Creative Director, has informed the community that the playable prototype is rough, but fun as they sharpen their capture and warfare mechanics. He also supported the promise of a gameplay video as early as this month. The letter proclaims:
"Even if the team is a little resistant to release something so early (you know designers are protective with their work until it is 'Done') Miguel is pushing us to share even pre-alpha prototypes with our active community. As he says: 'We have to make a great game but nevertheless we also have to show to our friends out there how awesome it is'."
In addition, the Warhammer 40k: Eternal Crusade Website has been updated, letting loose some of the new 40k lore, including some new info on the back-stabbing Chaos Space Marine Legions, who have emerged to wage war and destroy the Imperium of Man; destroying what they once swore to protect.
Keep a look out over the next few weeks for that gameplay video!
