Armored Warfare breaks out on PC this year
The Armored Warfare release year has been locked down for 2014, with closed beta on the horizon.
The just-unveiled tactical military MMORPG for the PC banks on attracting tank lovers and war aficionados with its mix of next-gen visuals, dynamic destructible environments, customizable modern combat vehicles and team-based gameplay.
“Armored Warfare gives players two deep levels of upgrading and progression through a huge array of both military vehicles and their own personal military base. Each giving players a diverse and wide-ranging path of strategies,” said Richard Taylor, Project Director of Obsidian Entertainment, which along with My.com will be developing the this armored combat vehicle online rpg.
What's the Armored Warfare gameplay like? Players are said to take on the role of private military contractors who form their personal command bases, from which they can launch an array of vehicles and crews. There will be a "robust" reputation and experience system to help make the power progression more interesting.
Armored Warfare game modes will be a mix of team-based PvE and PvP options. Players can go at it alone but we think joining Clans to participate in large-scale Territory Wars will be one of the key attractions for the game of this genre.
