Ace Combat Infinity locks on for a worldwide beta
Now it seems, the veterans at Namco Bandai and Project Aces are setting out to reclaim the skies as their own with their top-gunning franchise, Ace Combat.
The developers have announced that keen gamers will be able to soar into the Ace Combat Infinity beta, which has already premiered in Japan, within the week.
The free to play online multiplayer flyer is set for PlayStation 3 from February 4th, and will be available worldwide, for all to play.
Although the title is technically free to play, even the most disciplined of players will only be able to take to the skies once every 2 hours, due to their unique free to play model. It takes 4 hours for your aircraft's fuel tanks to be "refuelled" and with only 2 tanks at your disposal, you'll have to exercise some constraint.
It'll come as no surprise to anyone, that completely replenished fuel tanks can be purchased for a small fee, or, for a larger, subscription-style fee, you can get your gasoline on tap, and not have to worry about it at all.
With truer, free to play, dogfighting mmo games out there; truer in the sense of their free to play elements and larger in terms of multiplayer capability, it's hard to gauge how well Ace Combat Infinity will do when it takes off.
Be sure to check it out on February 4th, and let us know what you think.
