Aliens have arrived on Earth and they definitely do not come in peace. Now it is up to the player t fight against the alien menace in UFO Online: Fight for Earth is a free browser game developed by Funatics. The aliens promised to solve all of humanity's pressing needs but have really come to enslave Earth and plunder the planet's resources for themselves. While the majority of Earth still believes the alien race's lies, there are three factions that are actively fighting against them: the American Stability Pact, the Central Economic Federation, and the Ruling Confederation East. Each faction has their own advantages and disadvantages, and while they're all working to defeat the Skum, they are also working on the eventual conquest of their rival factions when the dust settles.
Players can engage in both PvE and PvP in UFO Online. This strategic browser game has players fighting against aliens in PvE and against other players in PvP. Each faction is striving for control of various regions on the worldwide map and whenever a faction completes a mission, they gain additional strength in that region. The faction with the highest strength for the week gets bonuses and access to the black market for special items.
Players have a home base from which they'll send out their squad of soldiers on various missions by selecting missions on the world map. The base can be expanded upon, granting more features to be used. The base is split into the barracks (where you configure your troops), a lab (to craft items), mission control, an infirmary, and storage. The player's squad in UFO Online is composed of individual soldiers, each with their own skills and classes, such as scout, medic, or grenadier. The player can equip each squad member as needed and all weapons and equipment are upgradable. You can further tweak the abilities of each squad member by using sliders to tailor-make your soldiers., thus allowing you a great deal of micromanagement of your team.
UFO Online: Fight for Earth's battles are turn-based and are rendered in 3D using the Unity 3D engine. You can play battles using a top-down perspective or you can rotate and zoom in on the action. Action is similar to that fan favorite, X-COM. Your soldiers do not die when defeated in battle, but will require real-time to recuperate in the infirmary. While free to play, there is a cash shop that the player can buy from to speed up the process such as having your troops heal faster. To fully defeat the alien invaders, the player will need to match a good strategy and get their hands on the best weapons available if humanity is to survive.
